Maranamass 2025 Movie Review
Serial killer films typically focus on unmasking the culprit or revealing their motives, while others show the killer upfront and center on their capture. Sivaprasad’s Maranamass takes a different path, laying bare the killer’s identity, methods, and targets from the start. There’s no twist in this tale of a serial killer, played brilliantly by Rajesh Madhavan, who stuffs bananas in his victims’ mouths with methodical madness. Yet, the audience stays hooked—not for surprises, but for the vibrant, quirky characters with their own distinct arcs.
Maranamass isn’t a tightly woven plot connecting every dot; it’s a chaotic string of events, and that’s what makes the madness so enjoyable. Basil Joseph’s PP Luke and Anishma’s Jessie lead the charge, but Suresh Krishna’s bus driver Jikku and his phone-only fiancée are just as central. Siju Sunny’s bus conductor Aruvi, on a poignant quest to find his long-lost father, deeply shapes the story. Then there’s the serial killer SK and Deputy Superintendent Ajay Ramachandran (Babu Antony), juggling his hunt for the killer with a search for his missing dog, Pakru. Each character’s quirks fuel the film’s wild, unpredictable charm.
