Bad Influence 2025 Movie Review

Initially, Eros and Reese clash due to their contrasting backgrounds—Eros, an orphan from foster care, resents Reese’s privileged life, while Reese, frustrated by her overprotective father, rebels against Eros’s presence. As Eros shadows Reese, including enrolling in her high school to monitor her closely, their mutual disdain turns into a forbidden romantic attraction, complicated by Bruce’s strict orders to keep their relationship professional. The stalker’s threats escalate, including a near-fatal spotlight incident at a school dance, a car explosion, and a disturbing package of teeth sent to Reese, heightening the tension.

Reese suspects Eros’s friend Peyton (Mirela Balić), who works as a cleaner at her school rather than at a bar as she claimed, might be the stalker. The truth unfolds that Peyton’s motives are tied to a tragic fire at Bruce’s restaurant years ago, which killed her mother, Eros’s parents, and Reese’s mother, with Bruce surviving and later supporting Eros financially. Peyton, driven by revenge against Bruce for the inadequate safety measures that caused the fire, targets Reese to hurt him. In a confrontation, Peyton accidentally knocks Eros unconscious, but when Reese and Bruce arrive, she confesses her connection to the past. In a fit of rage, Peyton shoots and kills Bruce before being arrested.

The film concludes with Reese and Eros surviving the ordeal and growing closer. Reese achieves her dream of joining a dance company, and Eros joins her on stage in a moment of healing and romance, suggesting hope despite the chaos. The plot, while visually appealing and emotionally charged, has been criticized for its predictable twists, rushed pacing, and reliance on clichés, making it a mixed bag of steamy romance and shallow thriller elements.
